Introduction
When I was very little,
a picture book was delivered home
My parents read out the book
every night for me
I always feel each picture teaches me
something very important in the story
And also my photo works have
same meanings in my original lifestory
To me, making my own picture book
is to teach myself how to live peacefully
in this real world
A little girl I´ve never met…
A little girl I don´t even know her name…
I want to give her everything
To save her from all the pains
I am a cowardly animal
So I hold up the highest goal to reach
So I must challenge something new
I failed in my own mission many times
But why not believe in myself insensitively?
"I will take the most beautiful photo, ever, in this whole world"
Look up to the sky high, free birds are flying around above
Every one of them just believe "I can fly"
My complete works of each photo tells me
What I had in my mind at last
What kind of the condition I was in meanwhile
I come to feel at ease by confirming
where I stand in this real visual world
I want to be a photographer again if I will be reborn
Kikuna Mishima
小さい頃絵本が家に届きました。
その絵本を毎晩両親に読んでもらいました。
絵本の絵にはそのストーリーの一番大事な場面が描かれています。
私は大人になって絵本の中ではなく
現実のストーリーを生きています。
写真は私にとって絵本の挿絵です。
現実のお話の絵本を作ることによって、
私は子供の時のように安心して世界を受け入れる事ができるのです。
まだ会ったこともない
名前も知らない
｢少女｣の心を救うことが出来たなら
その｢少女｣の為に全てを捧げたい
私は弱い動物だ
だから
私は高い目標を掲げて
だから
私は新しい事に挑戦しないといられない
何度も躓いたけれど
バカみたいに信じればいいい
｢この世界で一番美しい写真を撮りたい。｣
大空を自由に飛び回る鳥だって
飛べると信じなければ
決して飛べないのだから
完成した写真を見て初めて
自分が何を感じていたか分かる
わたしはこんな状態なのだと
ようやく知ることができる。
私がようやく世界に存在できたよろこびに
安堵する。
生まれ変わっても写真家になりたい。

The girl named Kikuna Mishima
You are here, and perhaps might be a school girl
Might be a mature lady having big influences in the society
Might be a person who is considering in calm
Might be an old lady looking back herself in the past
Anyhow you are a forever girl carrying soft,
breakable innocence under your skin.
You are nearly lost in the mist and search for yourself
because of who you are
It seems rather immpossible to be accepted but you wish
Someone To concentrate on nobody else but you
To notice you have worked hard so far
To get to know that you felt subtle vibration in the air
using your whole body and heart
You felt like you made someone happier
and wish to be remembered of your happy things
And if possible, you wish to be recorded as the most
beautiful memory, for remarkable moments
Stepping in and out of her original book
Mishima is also the one of the girls
being in charge of her invisible dream
There is no way she is able to face and talk
to every girl in this world
Through the finder of her camera
Mishima gave a role to One Girl
So that she can collect their voices and speak out
looking at the future we have
As the heroin of the story no one is known yet
Mari Yamabe
美島菊名という女性(ひと)
貴女がまだ若い学生だったとしても
華やかに社会で輝いている女性でも
静かに思いに更ける存在でも
老いて昔を振り返る女性でも
貴女の中身は生まれ持った柔らかい少女そのものだ
貴女は少女であるが故に蒼白い霧の中で模索する
これだけ沢山の人間が生きていて
私だけを見ていて欲しい
今日頑張った事を認めて欲しい
細かい空気の振動を心と体で受け止めた事を知って欲しい
誰かを少し幸せに出来たような気がして
嬉しかった事を留めて欲しい
そして許されるなら一番美しい記憶として残して欲しい
絵本の世界を出たり入ったりしながら
美島自身も現実に既存することのない
未開封の夢を自分に課した少女の一人だ
彼女が世界中の少女達と向き合い耳を傾けて
語らう事は出来ない
彼女はファインダーを通して
一人の女の子にその役目を託しました
まるで世界中の少女達の思いを一つに束ねて
未来に向かって代弁するかのように
まだ誰も知らない新しい物語の主人公として
